Banda Sem Nome

With funding from Bromsgrove District Council, the Band was set up to involve local people in music and local events.

People of all ages, and varying degrees of musical talent (including none at all!) joined.

None of the original members had previously played a drum! By the time of the 1996 festival the Band was able to lead a procession of lanterns and several hundred people through the village.

The success of the festival led to the development of a constitution, and a committee to manage the Band’s affairs.

Since that time, a number of instruments have been purchased, and the Band has gone from strength to strength.

 In addition to providing the music at the Alvechurch Alight Festival each year since 1996, the Band has played at Alvechurch Football Club, Alvechurch Cricket Club, Crown Meadow First School, Redditch Library, Rowney Green Music festival, Birmingham Artsfest, Cookley Festival, and many other school and community events in Bournville, Northfield and beyond!
